Domestic violence (DV) has no place in the kingdom of God, yet people of faith are not immune to the scourge of DV. We cannot stand by, and so we invite all Anglican churches to join us to mark this Sunday, May 4th as DVSUNDAY in your parish.
DV Sunday is an initiative of the Anglican Church’s Families and Culture Commission.
Anglican churches around Australia are encouraged to take part in three simple but meaningful ways:
- Highlight the issue: Domestic and family violence is present in our churches—some are living with it, others may be choosing it.
- Give thanks: That God sees and cares deeply for those impacted, and that we as a church are learning to see and care too.
- Invite generosity: Show our two-minute video and guide your congregation to www.charidy.com/dvsundayto make a one-off donation supporting the Church’s work in prevention, response, and healing. This will enable our national church to continue to develop initiatives and resources to prevent domestic violence and to respond well to those impacted by it in our church communities.
